Oriental rugs require a special cleaning process.

Your Oriental rugs are beautiful works of art as well as valuable investments.
These rugs are constructed differently than regular carpeting, therefore,
should be cleaned using a different specialized cleaning method.

To maintain their beauty and enhance their value, your Oriental rugs
should be cleaned by specially trained experts using the latest
equipment designed specifically for cleaning Oriental rugs.

Detailed Pre-Inspection

Your rug is inspected by a certified master Oriental rug cleaner so you know the exact condition of your rug.
That way you’ll have no doubt that your valuable rug has been cleaned by a Certified Specialist.

Compressed Air Dusting

This is the most effective method we have found for the removal of all dry soil contaminates.  Not only is it the best method we have found, it is also the gentlest.  (No rug beaters) just a special dusting tool and high volume compressed air.

This method removes 80-85% of the soil in your rug.  Dry soil removal is the most important to insurance the maximum life of your valuable rug.

Dye Bleed Test

We test all carpets made with vegetable dyes for bleeding.

Submersion Washing

Washing with softened water and neutral soaps.
Only cleaning agents that have been approved for use
on wool and silk are used on your rugs.

Decontamination Bath

This step is required when cleaning for pet problems or other contaminates
such as insect mildew, urine stains and other pet odors that require a
disinfecting and sanitation. 

One of our methods is the same as was used
to decontaminate rugs for Hurricane Katrina.

Air and Water Rinsing

This is to remove all cleaning agents and soil from your rug.  It has a "Jacuzzi" effect and is extremely
thorough and gentle for your fine rugs.

Final Rinse

The rugs are hoisted up and out of the pit for its final soft water rinse;
the water coming off the rug is almost drinkable.

Drying

Rugs are lifted from the pool and we turn the room into a controlled atmosphere drying room to insure quick and complete drying.

Fringe Cleaning and Detailing

After your rugs are dry, we carefully inspect the fringe for any stains or dirt that might have been missed in the washing process. We don’t just grab a handful of fringes and look at them.

We check each individual fringe because that’s what your Oriental rug deserves. We do special cleaning of the fringes if necessary.

Final Inspection and preparation for delivery

One last time we go over your rug carefully to make sure we haven’t missed anything.

We also go over options that are available, such as applying
Dupont Teflon Fabric Protection for Wool.

All of these steps are necessary for the proper care of your Oriental rugs. However,
some of them, e.g., dusting and proper submersion washing are
not available anywhere else in our area because they don’t have the equipment.

After all is said and done, you had the wisdom and good taste to invest in the finest rugs.
